Welcome to Hallelujah, our summer home.

We are lifelong boaters, both having boats in the family before we married. We have owned 5 sailboats ranging from 12 to 38 feet and our current MV over our 50 years of marriage. We now own Hallelujah, a DeFever 44. We purchased Hallelujah in 2006 before retiring to prepare to complete the Great Loop (the waterway system around the eastern half to the US.). Dave retired in 2009 so that we could have an extended cruise on the Great Lakes and think about what we would need when we moved aboard. We have sailed Lake Michigan and Northern Lake Huron over our many years of boating. In 2010 after Barb retired, we moved aboard to complete a lifetime dream of full time cruising and completing the Loop. We completed the Great Loop in 2010 when we passed Treasure Island, FL (former home for Hallelujah and the start of our first loop). We went to the Bahamas and then started loop two in 2011 and finished it in 2015. We took a number of side trips while completing Loop two. Lake Superior was a wonderful experience and the weather was great except for the cold and fog. In 2016 we ventured to Maine from Florida and returned having experienced three hurricanes on the trip. In 2017 we moved Hallelujah back to the Great Lakes and have been enjoying cooler summers and no hurricanes. We are still on Loop Three as Platinum Loopers and enjoy meeting loopers in the Great Lakes.
We hope that you enjoy our blog and find our trips interesting.
