December, 2013

December was quiet as we stayed in Cape Coral this year. We did go to a block party and met some of our neighbors. We also decorated inside and outside of the house. This hasn't been done in a few years. this is our tree. Since the family is really small, I decorated under the tree with stuffed animals. It is rather cute.
We were thankful everyday that we were not up north. The weather here is very warm compared to what Me or MI is having. We did swim most days until the air temp dropped to the 60's and the clouds rolled in. We are not brave enough to freeze getting in and out of the pool.

Fall, 2013
We enjoyed the warm weather after a cool summer in the north. Barb finalized Aunt’s trust and distributed assets. We then turned to working on the house to really make it our own. We painted, cleaned and removed items we didn’t want from the house. We had our furniture delivered from MI. Family came in Nov. for Thanksgiving. We returned to our volunteer work at the Cape Coral Library and got into our winter routine. Dave bikes every day and Barb bikes often. We walk 1 mile every evening. We swim almost every day – had a pool heater installed so the water is warm. Barb also started working on the 2014 DeFever Rendezvous as registration chair. The pool pictures were taken on the coldest day we had in November. Note that not all of us went into the water – we were not brave souls. While the water was warm, the air definitely had a chill with strong winds blowing.
