November / December, 2020

These months went by quickly with doctor appointments and holidays.  We had a daily schedule that also worked.  Up and out exercising except when it was raining.  Then we would complete house work as needed.  Complete errands in am so that in the afternoon we could play.  Well for Barb that was quilting and Dave read books or played on IPad.  We used the pool daily, until it got too cold for the pool heater to work.   Barb continues with her editing of books for a colleague.  We stayed healthy by sticking to the house and being very careful when were we were out.
We experienced a really high tide in late November just after Eta went by (Tropical Storm) but not high enough to float the anchor away.  We haven’t seen water in the back yard before either.  Nor have we experienced a ton of rain before.  Thanksgiving and Christmas were quiet holidays.  We did decorate and have a nice dinner at home with all the trimmings.  We learned to zoom and that was a great time for the holidays while everyone was in three different states also staying close to home.

We are into our winter routine of Barb walking three miles a day and Dave riding his bike.  We are also starting to do our cooking and stocking the freezer with favorite meals.  We did make spare ribs once already. We also canned 18 jars of tomatoes – we will see how long these last.   We are spending most of our days here at home – don’t just get in the car and run an errand.  We are developing lists and run errands one day a week.  We did drive up to the condo in St. Pete one day – the AC was in need of an inspection.  While there, Barb went to Pelon batting company to get batting for her QOV local group.  Stars and Stripes, FL is working very hard and fast to support the national QOV organization.  They are 1000 quilts short for honoring requests for quilts from 2018.  We hope to get ten tops to them in Nov. So everyone is doing their best to cut, sew, and piece.  Barb is charged with piecing squares into tops and also squaring up small squares.  She then has to sandwich quilts with a backing and batting, pin them and get them to the quilter.  Between her work on QOV quilts she is busy with some personal quilt work and also knitting a vest for her niece.
We have had no company to this date.  And we aren’t thinking of having any as the Covid virus is running high in this area of the state.  We don’t even get near the people who service the house.  WE hope that everyone is staying happy, healthy and safe.
